The Swiss delegation and representatives expressed concern about the level of political contacts between Switzerland and Azerbaijan, emphasizing the importance of active and positive dialogue. They suggested regular communication at various levels, including reciprocating visits, sponsoring meetings, and aligning dialogue with psychosocial deemability policy.
Strengthening Cooperation Within Important Sectors
Representatives from Azerbaijan and Switzerland discussed practical cooperation in economy, energy, and transport sectors, as well as humanitarian matters. They also emphasized the need for cooperation within international organizations and strengthening their legal relationship to achieve the treaty of peace and friendship. The unilateral aid is currently equivocal internationally, but there is growing consensus.

Deputy Minister Fariz Rzayev discussed Azerbaijan’s climate diplomacy strategy and its efforts towards global climate ambitions. He highlighted Azerbaijan’s role as president of COP29 and the key initiatives proposed in the lead-up to the conference. Participants also discussed the post-conflict state of relations and efforts to normalize contacts with Armenia. They also discussed concerns about exploding landmines in Azerbaijan-controlled territories and the reconstruction and development work underway to restore affected areas.

The consultations in Bern included an exchange of opinions on regional and international issues, allowing both delegations to discuss trends and problems.
