Chinese smartphone brand OnePlus has offered a fresh glimpse of its upcoming OnePlus 13s model, revealing a new color variant ahead of its expected launch in India. In a teaser shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the company showcased the device in a distinct green hue. This new option will join the previously announced color choices of Pink Satin and Black Velvet, providing consumers with a range of aesthetic preferences for the new device.
The OnePlus 13s is generating anticipation as it is set to launch in India soon. The company has positioned this device as the most compact model within the OnePlus 13 flagship series, featuring a 6.32-inch display. Ahead of the official launch event, OnePlus has already shared several key specifications and features, giving potential buyers a clear idea of what to expect from the new smartphone.
Key Specifications Revealed
Under the hood, the OnePlus 13s will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. This is the same high-performance processor found in the flagship OnePlus 13, suggesting that the 13s model will offer comparable processing power despite its smaller form factor. The device is expected to be available with configurations offering up to 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, which is designed for high-speed data access, and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage, providing ample and fast storage space for apps, media, and files.
The 6.32-inch display on the OnePlus 13s is likely to be an OLED panel, known for its vibrant colors and deep blacks. It is expected to feature a full HD+ resolution and support a 120 Hz refresh rate with LTPO technology, allowing for smoother visuals and more power efficiency by dynamically adjusting the refresh rate. The display is also anticipated to offer a peak brightness of 1,600 nits for clear visibility even in bright conditions and will support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision standards for enhanced video playback quality.
Introducing the ‘Plus Key’
OnePlus has also confirmed the inclusion of a new hardware feature on the 13s: the “Plus Key.” This customizable button will replace the brand’s signature Alert Slider, a physical switch traditionally used for quickly changing between silent, vibrate, and ring modes. The Plus Key is designed to offer users more flexibility, allowing them to set shortcuts for a variety of actions. These functionalities include quickly switching audio profiles, launching the camera application, activating the flashlight, recording audio, and translating text, providing a personalized shortcut experience.
Camera and Battery Details
As for its photographic capabilities, the OnePlus 13s is expected to feature a dual rear camera setup. This includes a 50MP primary sensor equipped with both autofocus and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for capturing steady and sharp images. It will be paired with a 50MP telephoto lens, also featuring OIS, which will allow for zoomed-in shots with reduced blur. For selfies and video calls, the device is anticipated to have a 16MP front camera. Powering the device will likely be a substantial 6,260mAh battery, providing ample usage time. The phone is also expected to support 80W wired fast charging, enabling rapid replenishment of the battery.
The revealed specifications paint a picture of a compact yet powerful smartphone, bringing flagship-level performance and features to a smaller form factor, with the added customization offered by the new Plus Key and the aesthetic appeal of the teased green color option.
