Huawei Expands Wearable Lineup in China with Sleek Watch Fit 4 Series and New Pro Iteration

Following its global debut last week, Huawei today, May 20, 2025, officially launched its anticipated Watch Fit 4 series for consumers in China. This new generation of the Fit lineup notably introduces a “Pro” variant for the first time, boasting extraordinary features and premium specifications, positioning the series as a compelling contender in the competitive smartwatch market, even drawing comparisons to high-end devices like the Apple Watch Ultra.

Sleek Designs Meet Enhanced Durability

The standard Huawei Watch Fit 4 maintains the lineup’s reputation for comfort with a slimmed-down design. It measures 43 x 38 x 9.5mm and weighs a mere 27 grams, making it exceptionally light on the wrist. The wearable showcases a sleek and stylish aesthetic, complemented by what Huawei describes as a 3D wing-like design on its sides. It features a rotating crown and a function button, thoughtfully separated by a small bump. Consumers can choose from five appealing shades: black, white, purple, silver, and green.

The new Watch Fit 4 Pro, on the other hand, presents slightly different dimensions at 44.5 x 40 x 9.3mm and a weight of 30.4 grams. It is available in three distinct colors: black, blue, and green. The green version comes equipped with a nylon strap, while the black and blue options feature fluoroelastomer straps. Demonstrating a commitment to premium construction, Huawei has incorporated a three-layer protection system for the Watch Fit 4 Pro, utilizing a new titanium alloy for the bezel, an aluminum alloy for the casing, and a sapphire screen for enhanced hardness and durability against daily wear and tear.

Vibrant Displays and Robust Specifications Underpin Performance

Both models in the Huawei Watch Fit 4 series sport a vibrant 1.82-inch AMOLED screen, offering a sharp 480 x 408 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 347 PPI for clear visuals. A key difference lies in their peak brightness capabilities; the standard version achieves a maximum brightness of 2000 nits, while the Pro variant impressively reaches up to 3000 nits, ensuring excellent screen legibility even under direct sunlight. While the standard Watch Fit 4 uses an aluminum alloy casing, the Pro model employs aluminum alloy for its mid-frame and the more premium titanium alloy for its bezel. Both smartwatches support the convenience of wireless charging and are compatible across Android, iOS, and HarmonyOS devices. They also boast a 5ATM waterproof rating, making them suitable for swimming and various water-based activities.

Personalized Experience and Advanced Environmental Tracking

Huawei has enhanced the user experience with a variety of customization options for watch faces. The Watch Fit 4 series comes with built-in stickers, allowing users to personalize their display with custom designs, emojis, pet motifs, and geometric shapes. There are also diverse styles to choose from, such as Arctic Rays and Dusk Silhouette, or users can opt for a DIY Gallery Watch Face. A significant upgrade in the series is the new robust barometer. This sensor provides detailed environmental data, sending alerts based on altitude changes, accumulated ascent, and air pressure. It also offers real-time data crucial for outdoor enthusiasts, including cadence, distance, heart rate, calories burned, and route tracking.

Comprehensive Health Management and Expanded Fitness Capabilities

A noteworthy advancement in the Watch Fit 4 Pro is the integration of Huawei’s TruSense health setup, which is not supported on the standard model. This sophisticated system is capable of monitoring six major bodily systems, including the respiratory, nervous, and endocrine systems, offering a more holistic view of the user’s health. The Pro variant further distinguishes itself with support for an ECG app and pulse wave arrhythmia analysis, providing deeper cardiac health insights. Both models, however, feature anonal well-being app designed to detect the user’s mood and emotions, subsequently advising them on breathing or relaxation exercises. The series also supports Health Insights, delivering next-level guidance on healthier lifestyles, encompassing stress management tips, advice for improving sleep, and workout optimization.

For fitness enthusiasts, the Watch Fit 4 series supports an extensive range of sports modes, including mountaineering, hiking, skiing, cross-country running, stair climbing, sailing, surfing, kayaking, motorboating, and rowing. A new addition is a dedicated golf course mode, aimed at enhancing the golfing experience. The watches also feature the Sunflower Positioning System, which tracks distance in real-time and supports a colorful movement trajectory, thanks to an improved satellite search speed that results in accurate positioning within seconds. Other useful health tools include heart health research, continuous sleep and heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen (SpO2) tracking, plateau health research, and menstrual cycle management.

Smart Conveniences and Reliable Battery Performance

Beyond health and fitness, the Watch Fit 4 series offers a suite of smart conveniences. Users can easily access a voice notepad, make Bluetooth calls directly from their wrist, take screenshots, utilize NFC for contactless payments or transit cards, remotely control their phone’s camera, send quick reply messages, and install various third-party apps. Both the standard and Pro models pack a 400mAh battery that supports wireless charging. Huawei states a battery life of up to 10 days for both variants under typical usage or 4 days with the Always-On Display (AOD) feature activated. The standard model takes approximately 75 minutes to fully charge, while the Pro model achieves a full charge in a slightly faster 60 minutes.

Pricing and Availability in the Chinese Market

The Huawei Watch Fit 4 has launched in China with a price tag of 949 yuan, though the silver variant is priced slightly higher at 1099 yuan. The more premium Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro starts at 2099 yuan, with the green color option with its nylon strap costing 2199 yuan. Huawei announced that both models would enter the pre-sale phase in China starting today, May 20, 2025, allowing eager consumers to be among the first to secure these new wearables.
